Samuel J is a Cornish-Born Musician.
His unique music and soulful performances have helped him to establish a strong reputation with an ever-growing global fan base. Many people identify with Samuel's incredible love and respect for all people and deep connection with nature. As a result of his own fundraising, dedication, and volunteer efforts, his career has been supported by some of the world's greatest conservationists, including The Dalai Lama, Ocean Care, Greenpeace, and Sea Shepard.
Samuel has been raising funds and awareness for Sea Shepherd and Ocean Care for a number of years and works continuously at schools and through his music to amplify the positive impact of their work. Samuel has taken part in expeditions with both organizations, visiting remote regions of the world and reporting from the areas most effected by exploitation.
Some of his career highlights include: being selected to perform for his holiness the Dalai Lama as part of the Dalai Lama's 70th birthday celebration and performing at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London. He has toured and shared the stage with the likes of Ben Harper, Michael Franti, Jack Johnson, Donovan Frankenreiter, Zero 7, Alice Russell, Jurassic 5 and a number of the top artists in Brazil including Marcelo D2, Maria Gadu, and Gabriel O Pensador.
Coaching, activism, and more
Throughout his career, Samuel has been empowering children and adults through a variety of different modalities including music, pilates, meditation, yoga, chi gong, surfing, and bodywork.
As the head coach of SSC (Britains top rated school), Samuel taught children surfing and empowerment exercises for over 16 years. He is a co-founder of the renowned Sennen Surf Centre, and has climbed the ranks of the BSA surf association as a coach. During this time Samuel and the school developed award-winning teaching techniques for all abilities and ages. His innovative teaching style has gained him involvement in some very special teaching roles including working with GP referrals, working with disabled children, and using surfing as a mode of rehabilitation for injured or recovering individuals.
He works with music to empower children and has a select group of clients he takes on each quarter to help develop their creative abilities.
